Abstract
The researcher aims to investigate the influence of eco-friendly packaging on purchase intention and also examine the role of
trust among the factors such as green packaging and purchase intention from a consumer perspective. The research design
used in this study was descriptive and analytical in nature and primary data collected from 300 respondents through purposive
sampling technique using a structured questionnaire. Reliability and normality test was conducted to confirm whether the
data are meet its conditions or not for the application of parametric tests. Regression analysis was conducted to know the
relationship among variables and the findings indicates that green packaging has a strong and statistically significant positive
effect on consumer trust, leads that environmentally friendly packaging enhances consumer confidence. But, consumer trust
does not have a significant direct effect on purchase intentions, recommending that the insignificant effect of trust factor alone
is not enough to conclude buying decisions. In the same manner, green packaging does not directly connected with purchase
intention, shows the presence of an attitude-behaviour gap among consumers. On the basis of previous literature reviewed, the
current study reveals that factors such as perceived value, price sensitivity, and scepticism toward environmental claims may
play a more dominant role in shaping purchase behaviour.
