Because scientists have been studying work-life balance extensively since the 1990s, research findings are growing annually. Employees need to have a personal life that incorporates their family and community in addition to performing well at work. Organizations must closely monitor employees’ capacity to balance their personal and professional life in order to retain their human resources. Nowadays, a lot of working people believe that there is insufficient balance between their personal and professional lives at work. This study aims to assess the progress made in the field of work-life balance research. This study will present the current status of the work-life balance literature and provide readers with a thorough understanding of the dynamics at play. This study is important because it shows how earlier academics have approached the topic of work-life balance. Furthermore, it offers a methodical bibliometric examination of the literature on work-life balance. This study used a descriptive analytic methodology. The data for this study was gathered using the Scopus database. The database used to review this research consisted of 12,160 documents, of which 2280 were deemed appropriate for the study. The papers ranged from 2014 to 2024. The devices run the VOSviewer application, and the data is exported in CSV format. The theory of work-life balance research, publishing patterns, theoretical foundations, referenced journals, frequently used research keywords, and clusters in research groups will all be mapped in this study. Furthermore, this study provides an overview of the topic so that it can be updated in future research. The areas of management and business research in the US are the most involved in work-life balance studies, according to a Scopus analysis. Analysis was done using VOSviewer, where research publications on work-life balance have shown inconsistent trends. Numerous trends use bibliometric mapping to discuss work-life balance. In order to apply these findings as clues regarding trends in future study, researchers still hardly ever use this research trend. Research data on work-life balance is still scarce, as seen by the small number of journals that published these studies in 2024.
