Abstract
The present study examines the nature tourism activity in the peripheral areas of North Bengal, the northern fringe of West Bengal in India. The objective of the study is to highlight the fact of how nature tourism activity has been flourished in the peripheral areas over time. Based on quantitative field surveys, the article’s major findings illustrate the magnitude of present status of nature tourism in different peripheral areas of North Bengal. It also reflects an overview of its impact on the regional economy of the peripheral areas with six case studies. The paper concludes with some management strategies and actions for developing the nature tourism activity of the region.
