Abstract
The study was conducted on the corporate social responsibility (CSR) activities of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) in Haryana, particularly examining the impact of gender diversity in the ownership of businesses. The research utilised the survey method, through which information was gathered from 347 MSMEs, including male-owned MSMEs, female-owned MSMEs, and those jointly owned by both genders. In order to analyse the data collected, the authors used covariance-based structural equation modelling (CB-SEM) through SmartPLS to confirm the measurement model and understand the major CSR practices, namely philanthropic activities, environmental practices, and social innovations. In addition to this, a one-way ANOVA was used to compare the CSR practices of MSMEs based on gender diversity in ownership. The observations of the study showed that there are substantial disparities regarding CSR practices depending on gender diversity. In particular, jointly owned MSMEs performed more actively in philanthropic and environmental activities, while female-owned enterprises exhibited higher engagement in social innovations.
