Abstract
This research delves into the lived experiences of gig workers in Mumbai, specifically focusing on delivery partners for platforms like Swiggy and Zomato. Using a mixed methods
approach, data were gathered from 182 participants between August 2023 and April 2024. The study highlights the economic, social, and familial factors influencing the choice of gig work and investigates the working conditions faced by these workers. Key findings
reveal issues related to sleep quality, job satisfaction, and overall wellbeing. The study advocates for legal reforms to improve the benefits and protections for gig workers and
emphasizes the need for policies that enhance their working conditions and access to mental health resources.
