The textile industry has undergone a remarkable transformation in recent years with the integration of nanotechnology. This article highlights the revolutionary impact of nanotechnology on fabrics, elucidating its diverse applications and transformative effects on textile properties and performance. Some aspects of synthesis, characterization and types of nanomaterials have been discussed. Some major applications of textiles embedded with nanomaterials have also been discussed. In addition to material-focused aspects, the review explores the economic landscape of nanotechnology in the textile industry, outlining the current market trends, challenges, and future prospects. The article concludes with a forward-looking perspective on the evolving role of nanotechnology in textiles, emphasizing the need for continued research and collaboration to harness its full potential. This review gives overview of applications of nanotechnology in textile for different sectors.
