            Abstract
There has been a substantial increase in the number of natural and man-made disasters, both in scope and intensity, in the last few decades. The resultant damage- social, economic, and human, has highlighted the necessity of immediate response, in aid of maximum number of affected people, utilizing all available resources in an optimal manner. The logistical challenges in the face of such disasters, call for proper management of relief resources in the form of Human Relief Supply Chain (HRSC). This study examines current issues regarding HRSCs including major stakeholders and agencies involved, including role of the private sector, and their respective contributions. A framework of HRSC in the Indian context is proposed, highlighting major issues and challenges.
