Abstract
The interplay of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and the Internet of Things (IoT) to effectuate the changes happening in contemporary agriculture is prompt. Connecting sensors, actuators, and machinery on the ground to AI analytical platforms, farmers can monitor, predict, and automate activities in real-time. This paper describes the architecture, applications, benefits, challenges, and future of AI-powered IoT systems in smart agriculture. From the recent studies reviewed, we summarize example implementations and highlight research trends that have shown increased yield, better efficiency of recourses, and sustainability.
