Abstract

In the ever-evolving healthcare industry, information and communication technology (ICT) has triggered a remarkable transition. Among its many advancements, telemedicine stands out as a dominant service, revolutionising healthcare delivery. Understanding patient satisfaction is crucial for improving their health and providing advanced medical services. The purpose of this study is to compile the body of research on patient satisfaction with telemedicine, providing an insightful analysis and enhancing our comprehension of this crucial area. From 2018 to 2022, we examined the scientific literature included in the Scopus database. Specifically, we focused on research papers that discussed the topics of “Telemedicine” and “Patient satisfaction”. The papers were examined in further detail using the Biblioshiny program. We found 3,804 articles that were pertinent to our chosen keywords using a comprehensive database search; 945 of these were included in our research. The top source of the title is the Journal of Medical Internet Research. Bekker Mn, Franx A, and Van Den Heuvel Jem are the most prolific authors. Additionally, the most influential papers, the most common terms, and the network of co-occurrences between them were identified. According to the results, the US is a leader in this area. This study will help telemedicine providers and policymakers to form policies and regulations that promote high-quality telemedicine services. Guidelines for telemedicine implementation might be guided by insights from this study.
