            Abstract
The present industrial era is characterized as knowledge based competitive era. Todays world is moving towards higher effective system in which effective knowledge is essential. Knowledge Management (KM) provides new opportunity to create and retain greater value from supply chain based on core business competencies (Wadhwa, 2005). The advent of internet, IT and KM has reduced the transaction cost and has increased the user acceptance and dependability to the system. This has lead to develop knowledge based supply chain, integrated with artificial intelligence i.e. evolution of information shared supply chain. The paper deals with analyzing and optimizing the traditional supply chain management of small-scale industry by using feed forward of back propagation neural network algorithm. This back propagation neural network algorithm is applied on transportation problem or shipment problem or traveling sales man problem, which tries to built a correlation and inter-relationship between the variables of study. The mathematical model designed for the study helps in finding out optimal solution for a range of 10 variables. The mathematical function fails to give reliable result if the range of variables is increased beyond 10 thus limiting the function to a variable size of 10 only.
