Abstract

This research investigates the role of employee commitment as a mediator between job satisfaction and organisational performance based on data gathered from a convenience sample of 623 employees of travel agencies in India via both personally and an electronic questionnaire. Employing Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) by Smart PLS 3.0, the study revealed that job satisfaction is positively related to both employee commitment and organisational performance. The outcomes also confirms that Job satisfaction is a prominent predictor of employee commitment and both significantly predictors of organisational performance. Further, employee commitment significantly mediated the impact of job satisfaction on organizational performance in Indian travel agencies. The research also extends the literature by filling a gap in research on the relationship between job satisfaction and organisational performance in India especially in tour operation industry.
