Abstract
In this study, an attempt has been made to examine the investment pattern of the millennials and Generation Z (Gen Z). The study aims to unfold the various aspects of investment patterns of the selected respondents. The study used quantitative method to collect data from 200 respondents. 100 respondents are from the millennial generation and 100 are from Gen Z. Data were collected from Ahmedabad using a structured questionnaire. The survey method was used to collect data. The respondents were interviewed personally. The results demonstrated that there are some similarities and differences in the investment pattern of both generations – millennials and Gen Z. Both generations prefer to invest in the stock market and mutual funds. The study highlights that even within the millennials younger and older generations have different investment patterns. Education plays a significant role in determining the investment of both generations. The study also showed that the ability to take risk while investing in the stock market is different among millennials and Gen Z. Overall, both generations have a few differences and more similarities in their investment patterns.
