Abstract
This work proposes the design of a system for managing Electric Vehicle (EV) charging processes using intelligent methods. Due to the limitations of current electrical power distribution networks and the lack of smart meters [2], EV charging needs to be performed in a balanced way. This can be achieved by leveraging past data, weather forecasts [7], and simulation techniques. To facilitate user interaction and mobility, a mobile application has been developed to assist EV drivers with managing the charging process. The proposed Smart EV Charging System integrates Vehicle-to-Grid (V2G) technology [1], connecting EVs and renewable energy sources to Smart Grids (SG). This system also explores the concept of Electrical Markets (EM) [6], made possible through the deregulation of electricity production and consumption, to find the best conditions for the commercialization of electrical energy.
Keywords: Electric vehicle, Smart grids, Smart meter.
