Abstract
The present article is a case study covering publications of DESIDOC Journal of Library & Information Technology (DJLIT) on Web 2.0 and Social Networking and their various applications during a span of nine years from 2007 to 2015 covering a total of five hundred articles. The work was undertaken to understand article distribution pattern, authorship pattern, and geographical distribution of contributors. The study reveals that majority of contributors were from India, the rest came from other Asian countries, Europe (3.02%) and North America (1.72%). The term Blog had most appearances in the articles on Web 2.0 and Social Networking. The present article could be of use to the Library and Information Science professionals to understand the extent of use and application of Web 2.0 technology and Social Networking phenomena.
