Abstract
This study investigates employees perspectives on the performance of co-operative banks in Odisha using a factor analysis approach. The research identifies five critical determinants influencing employee perceptions: financial stability, management efficiency, customer service quality, technological adaptation, and regulatory compliance. Primary data were collected through a structured questionnaire administered to employees across different co-operative banks in Odisha, and the responses were analysed using Exploratory Factor Analysis (EFA) and Confirmatory Factor Analysis (CFA). The statistical results reveal that financial governance, leadership effectiveness, and digital banking innovations significantly shape employees’ evaluations of organisational performance. Moreover, customer service quality and adherence to regulatory frameworks emerge as vital factors in ensuring institutional sustainability and credibility. The findings emphasise that employee insights are essential in identifying operational challenges and formulating effective strategies for performance enhancement. Strengthening financial management, investing in modern technological infrastructure, and ensuring strict compliance with regulatory standards can improve service quality, employee satisfaction, and long-term institutional resilience. The study also highlights the importance of capacity-building initiatives and transparent governance in boosting employee confidence and customer trust. Overall, this research contributes to the existing literature by offering empirical evidence on how employees perceive the effectiveness of co-operative banks in Odisha. The insights derived are valuable for policymakers, bank administrators, and stakeholders in designing targeted policies that foster efficiency, competitiveness, and sustainability in the co-operative banking sector.
