Abstract
Rural areas are the legs of the agriculture sector. The rural population’s strengths can be identified by their agricultural production. Farmers are known as sons of the soil. Farmers are facing several challenges due to weather changes, natural disasters, pests, and so on. The government provided agricultural insurance to mitigate risks related to it. This bibliometric analysis is an analysis of the research trends available in agricultural insurance. The bibliometric data were gathered from the Scopus database. PRISMA flow chart was used for filtering the necessary documents. The results highlight the growth, key authors, journals, and countries’ contributions towards agricultural insurance research. The findings indicate that agricultural research is growing with minor fluctuations from 2001 to 2025. Barry K. Goodwin is the leading author based on documents and citations. Agricultural Finance Review is the most prolific and influential publication source. The US contributes the most documents, with key terms such as crop insurance, climate change, smallholder farmers, and food security.
