Abstract
The rise of smart technologies has led to the widespread integration of Internet of Things (IoT) devices into everyday life, transforming how individuals interact with their environments. IoT refers to interconnected devices embedded with sensors and software that collect and share data, enabling them to perform tasks autonomously or in collaboration with other devices. This paper explores the significant role of smart technologies in advancing the IoT revolution, with a focus on key sectors such as home automation, healthcare, transportation, and industry. Smart technologies in the home, for instance, offer enhanced convenience and energy efficiency through devices like smart thermostats and security systems. In healthcare, IoT-enabled wearables and remote monitoring tools are improving patient care by providing real-time data to both individuals and healthcare providers. The transportation sector benefits from IoT by enabling connected vehicles and smart infrastructure, making mobility safer and more efficient. In industry, IoT drives innovations in manufacturing and logistics, optimizing production and maintenance processes. However, the widespread adoption of IoT also presents challenges, including security vulnerabilities, privacy concerns, and issues related to interoperability between devices. These challenges must be addressed to unlock the full potential of IoT technologies. The paper concludes by examining future trends, such as 5G connectivity and AI integration that will accelerate IoT’s impact on everyday life.
